Type III Protein Arginine Methyltransferase
PRMT7 is a unique recombinant type III protein arginine methyltransferase expressed as a fusion protein in bacteria. As supplied, the enzyme is extremely active (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19110445) and capable of mono-methylation of arginine acceptor sites in peptides and proteins under appropriate incubation conditions.

In vitro methylation of proteins and peptides. A pilot assay is suggested to determine the amount of enzyme appropriate for the end user’s assay conditions. CH3 BioSystems has used 10 μl of this lot for detection of radioactive methyl incorporation in a 24 μl assay volume.
All lots of PRMT7 exhibit methyltransferase activity based on the transfer of tritiated methyl from radiolabeled methionine to the arginine-rich methylation substrate (#830002 Arginine-Rich Peptide).
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Thaw upon first use and prepare appropriately sized aliquots. Store at -80° C. Stable for 6 months from date printed on label.
