Product Usage
In vitro methylation of proteins and peptides. A pilot assay is suggested to determine the amount of enzyme appropriate for the end user’s assay conditions. CH3 BioSystems has used 5 µl of this lot for detection of radioactive methyl incorporation in a 24 µl assay volume and 15 µl of this lot for non-radioactive detection using Anti-mRG in a 30 µl assay volume.
Testing
All lots of PRMT1 exhibit methyltransferase activity based on the conversion of an arginine-rich peptide to a methylarginine containing peptide based on methylarginine-specific antibody reactivity. Arbitrary activity units based on a standardized proprietary formula.
Storage
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Thaw upon first use and prepare appropriately sized aliquots. Store at -80°. Stable for 6 months from date printed on label.
